This course will provide entrepreneurs with conceptual and practical learning in entrepreneurship and innovation adapted to the Kenya context. It will enable you to develop the independent and collaborative skills necessary to accelerate new and existing enterprises. This course will motivate you to articulate how your enterprise can be a vehicle for change-making by pursuing your individual goals while providing solutions to societal problems in an ethical and sustainable manner.

Meet our Mentors
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
Liz Lenjo is the Founder and Managing Consultant of MyIP Legal Studio. She specializes in Intellectual Property, Entertainment, Media, and Fashion Law. Liz is the Chairperson of the Copyright Tribunal, the specialized court established under Section 48 of the Copyright Act (CAP 130). She also serves as a Board Member of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency established under the Energy Act (2019), where aside from overseeing corporate governance, also offers her expertise as an IP Expert.
Liz is also a tutor with CopyrightX by HarvardX- Kenya which the GoDown Arts Center runs. She is a volunteer with the Kenya Bureau of Standards Technical Committee as the Chairperson of the Intellectual Property Committee and the Kenya Fashion Council as the Head of Intellectual Property & Policy in the Legal Committee.
Liz holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Turin (Italy) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), and a Postgraduate Diploma Kenya School of Law. She also holds a Certificate in Fashion Law from Fashion Law Institute – Fordham University Law School (New York). She also has professional certificates in IP Management, Mediation & Arbitration from WIPO Academy and CopyrightX from HarvardX.
Liz is also a published writer and scholar. Her LL.M research paper has been published by the renowned Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review 2018 titled: “Inspiration versus Exploitation: Traditional Cultural Expressions at the Hem of the Fashion Industry.” The paper is available online on Westlaw and Nexis as well as on the Marquette IP Law Review website (https://scholarship.law.
Liz has consulted for the Kenyan Government on matters of Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Expressions and has made several presentations in different parts of the world on TK & TCE practice and policy matters.
Liz is a blogger on www.lizlenjo.com on IP and Entertainment Law matters focusing on non-legal minds to understand fundamental issues in these areas of law. She is also the Chapter Lead of Creative Commons Kenya and the head of the Culture & Entertainment Platform. Liz has been recognized for her efforts in the legal field and is a nominee of the prestigious Business Daily Top 40 under 40 Women 2018. Liz is recognized as one of the Shining Lights, 2021 by WIPRDiversity, a listing of “the best and brightest Influential Women in IP globally”. She has also been recently recognized as one of the Top 25 Women in Digital – Kenya for her IP advocacy in the online space.
In 2022, Liz has also been recognized by WIPRDiversity as a Beacon of Light for being persistent and indomitable to make the IP profession more inclusive. Her consultancy has also been feted for Most Adaptive Use of Technology by the inaugural D.E.A.R Awards 2022 by Kayana which celebrates women in business in Kenya.
Liz was also recently feted as IP Lawyer of the Year 2022 by the Africa Legal Innovation Awards. Liz is also a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and also serves as a member of the Global Advisory Council- Africa.
