Commencement Dinner

On the evening of July 5, 2024, Riara University hosted a memorable dinner event at Sarova Panafric Hotel to honor distinguished guests, esteemed faculty, and most importantly, the graduating class of 2024. Embracing the theme of Royal Blue & Gold, the occasion was a spectacular celebration of the achievements of our graduating students.
The event kicked off at 7:30 PM with a delightful reception that set a festive tone for the evening. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner accompanied by music. A highlight of the evening was the Graduands Video presentation, which movingly showcased the experiences and successes of our graduands. Throughout the dinner, the Photo booth provided a fun opportunity for capturing special moments and smiles.
Mr. Andrew Mathenge, the Dean of Students, delivered a warm welcome address. He then introduced The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Robert Gateru, who inspired the graduands with his encouraging words. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs Prof. Wanja Tenambergen also delivered an inspiring message,
emphasizing the university’s dedication to excellence and the future success of its graduands. Michelle Mwangi, representing the Alumni treasure in the absence of chairperson Collins Oluoch, delivered a motivational speech, urging the students to persevere as they venture into the world. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ashley Muinyi, representing the School of Journalism. Other school representatives also expressed their appreciation on behalf of the graduands. The evening ended with a symbolic last dance, where students celebrated their accomplishments and looked forward to
new beginnings, dancing to a song of their choice alongside the Vice-Chancellor.
