Riara University hosts Cohort 1 of the Giving Voice toValues (GVV) Africa Course

Society today is faced with major crisis when it comes to ethical leadership. Over the years, we have witnessed an extreme lack of ethical leadership globally across all sectors of society. We have witnessed political leadership that siphoned off wealth from fellow citizens leaving struggling economies. We have witnessed unethical leadership in the corporate world which resulted in the crumbling of well established businesses and the disruption of life for those that depend on such organizations.

Under The Education Collaborative, Riara University (RU) has embarked on a training that seeks to develop skills that emphasize ethical action, in addition to having a foundation on ethical analysis and awareness our academic and professional lives

The University has enrolled a cohort of 15 student leaders and 9 staff including faculty to the Giving Voice to Values Africa (GVV) program.

GVV is a proven learning model that employs case-based approaches to help professionals at all levels learn to speak and act with greater confidence and competence when confronted with value conflicts in the University, at work, or in business.

RU seeks to build Institutional Systems and Cultures that empower individuals and organizations for ethical action, empathy, teamwork, leadership and influence.

This is in our efforts to continue to play a critical role in shaping the future leaders of our society.

Following this initial cohort, the program will be opened to more students and staff.
